Stephen Jenkinson is the subject of the feature-length documentary film Griefwalker and the author of Die Wise: A Manifesto for Sanity and Soul.


Stephen Jenkinson is a culture activist, worker, and author. Stephen Jenkinson teaches internationally and is the creator and principal instructor of the Orphan Wisdom School, co-founded the school with his wife Nathalie Roy in 2010, convening semi-annually in Deacon, Ontario, and in northern Europe. He has Master’s degrees from Harvard University (Theology) and the University of Toronto (Social Work).

We also discussed what it’s like running a marijuana seed and farming business in Humboldt County, the highs and lows of the weed business, and if California's legal weed is so heavily taxed and regulated that the black market might survive.


Personally, I don’t use cannabis at the moment but have become increasingly uncomfortable with headlines like “Why This Man Served 32 Years in Prison for Weed”, “Teen Faces Life Sentence for Pot Brownies” and “Man Who Was Sentenced To Life In Prison for Selling $30 Of Marijuana” just to name a few. I asked Nathaniel Pennington for the truth about the people in jail for marijuana possession. Regardless of your personal use of the plant, someone in jail as we speak from weed while corporations are making millions is tragic. Frankly, it's sad and embarrassing to see.
